Education/ Experience Requirements:  MS degree in an engineering, scientific or technical field directly related to the task to be performed from an accredited college or university.  Seven (7) years of experience is required.  Alternatively, have a Bachelors degree plus nine (9) years of experience or a combination of vocational and/or military certifications in a science or engineering field and thirteen (13) years of experience.


Required Qualifications:  U.S. Citizen.  Must be able to obtain and hold a security clearance.  Experience in any / all of the following disciplines for DoD/multi-service platforms: Experience testing and/or test management experience for climatic, dynamic and electromagnetic testing of missile and aviation components and subcomponents.  Must be able to link the technical capability of tested hardware, technical risks and costs to overall Project goals and schedule.  Must have test experience to ensure key system/component/subsystem performance capabilities are incorporated and demonstrated in test plans, test reports, test incident reports and analysis.  Must have good communication / briefing skills to confirm to key stakeholders and Project leadership that key test/engineering objectives have been achieved via test reports and briefings.


Duties:  Plans and conducts testing/engineering assessment on an assigned project. Interacts with other research staff.  Discusses progress and interim findings at technical review meetings.  Continue with project in original concept or modifies direction based on engineering and technical assessment. Sets up prototype equipment and uses experimental materials to test theories developed. Works with customer technical personnel to test out theories and / or findings.


Desired Qualifications: Test experience with a general understanding of how the test / engineering process relates to the program/acquisition process. A good working knowledge of test plans and test reports. Demonstrated innovative and research capability. Demonstration of this capability may be by evidence of publication of research papers or reports, or development of innovative processes or products, or the award of patents, or by significant contributions to research and development programs.  Individual should be pro-active and independent in the engineering and test of hardware, yet willing to work as a team member.


Comments: 20% travel to selected CONUS and OCONUS locations is possible.
